Trip Overview: Bradford VT to Wilder Dam, September 10-11, 2022. Two days on the water, 29.8 miles paddled, no portages.
By the end of the weekend we will have closed out the NH/VT section of the Connecticut River. 278 miles of the 410 miles done with only Massachusetts and Connecticut remaining. This would be a fairly straight forward paddle from Bradford VT to the Wilder Dam in Wilder VT.
| Day | Distance (mile) | Average Speed (mph) | Moving Average (mph) |

Day one started by launching from Bugbee Landing into Waits River with a heavy morning mist hanging over the river. As soon as we joined the Connecticut River from the Waits River we were met by a bald eagle. A nice start to the trip.

The water level was high and there was little to no wind making for an enjoyable morning paddle.
The afternoon became a little more arduous as the sun came out and temperature reached the 80s. The high water levels also meant that finding solid dry ground for taking breaking became a challenge. Occasionally we’d stand up and stretch in a couple inches of water.

Day two would be cooler and overcast which we were both happy about. After struggling to find dry land yesterday, we decided to plan out our break at known camping sites and pull outs.

As we approached Wilder Dam and headed for the pull out on the VT side, it was nice to realize we has completed a significant portion of the river.
